Granville, NY — January 8, 2026 — Granville Jr./Sr. High School held its annual National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Thursday evening, January 8, recognizing students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The formal ceremony included student reflections, a candle lighting representing the four pillars of the National Honor Society, scholarship, service, leadership and character, and the administration of the membership oath.

The following students were inducted into the Granville Chapter:

The ceremony also recognized current senior members who continue to uphold the standards of the National Honor Society:
Elyas Al Assere, Nathan Barber, Payton Bashaw, Parker Cornwall, Wesley Glinka, Addison ManWarren, Matthew Ruigrok, Isaac Strout, and Noah Weeden.
In addition to academic achievement, members of the National Honor Society are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to service. During the past year, the chapter sponsored Granville’s Got Talent, a well-attended schoolwide talent show. Combined with participation in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Shamrock campaign, these efforts raised $1,130 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
This year, chapter members continued their service work by raising $719.32 through the Coins for Christmas drive, benefiting the Washington County Operation Santa program.
The National Honor Society chapter is advised by Math Teacher, Mr. Will Hardin and supported by the faculty and administration of Granville Jr./Sr. High School.
