As school families look ahead to summer and start to make plans, here are local, non-profit positions in public service and for profit businesses positions available for Granville CSD students and graduates.

NON-PROFIT / PUBLIC SERVICE POSITIONS

LEAP Summer Work Program, Washington County, NY

Ages 14 - 24

There are a variety of summer jobs for teenagers in Washington County NY, and LEAP can help connect you with the right opportunity. In-school and out-of-school employment opportunities are also available.

Granville CSD has an opening for 1-2 more summer paid cleaners (part-time or full-time) and summer mentoring through the LEAP program. Contact Facilities Manager, Dan Daigle ddaigle@granvillecsd.org for questions and to express your interest.

Village of Granville, NY Swim Program for Elementary Children - Program Assistants 

Ages 15 and Up

The Village will need three to five (depending on enrollment) swim instructors to assist the Swim Program Coordinator at Lake St. Catherine. Must be great with kids, a good swimmer and comfortable working in the water.

Lifeguard Jobs at Lake Lauderdale, Jackson, NY

Offers a 6 – 8 week employment program for young adults, aged 14 – 20 years, within families who meet the income eligibility requirements. Also offers eligible young adults aged 14–24, in and out of school, to gain valuable skills needed to be successful within the workforce.

Paid Internship Opportunity, Hudson Crossing Park, Schuylerville, NY

Must be 18 by May 1

Hudson Crossing Park is seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit administration, educational programming, and public outreach. This paid internship provides students with the opportunity to develop valuable skills in community engagement, event planning, marketing, and environmental education while working in a beautiful outdoor setting.

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT TRAINING

Safe Sitter Course - Grades 6 - 8

Would you like to be a trusted babysitter or parent's helper to your friends and family in the neighborhood? Safe Sitter Essentials Course is a full day, 6-hour course taught by a Washington County employee typically on a school break or Saturday. Contact krozell@granvillecsd.org to express interest in learning how to take this course at Granville CSD. Minimum three registrants required.

PRIVATE ENTERPRISE POSITIONS

Bromley Mountain in Peru, Vt is hiring 14 years and up students who would like to work at their outdoor adventure park. A cover letter and resume is required when sending in an application. They are also interested in hiring for school breaks.

Attention rising 9th grade families and those who have not completed grade 12: Plan ahead and consider applying for SUNY Adirondack’s Trio Upward Bound program at the beginning of next school year. This free mentoring program includes comprehensive summer programming for students enrolled in their program. Trio Upward Bound is for students whose families have not graduated college OR meet income requirements and offers free mentoring to students all through high school and a free 6-week summer program while in high school.
