Congrats to Joysie (left) and Esmeralda (right) Velez for representing Granville in the Puerto Rican National team! #gohorde #granvilleny #granvillecsd
From Sports Reporter, Keith Harrington, of NYVTMedia.com:
"Granville Golden Horde softball sisters Esmeralda and Joysie Velez both excelled at the 10-day World Series Babe Ruth tournament in Florence, Alabama. Both girls play for the Puerto Rico International team at the event.
The sisters, who were both members of the Granville varsity team this spring, secured a second-place silver medal for the Puerto Rican team in the championship game against Taiwan.
Esmeralda's outstanding performance earned her the overall MVP award in the 16u category, along with a spot on the Babe Ruth All-Star team and an engraved bat.
Joysie was recognized as MVP in two of her team’s games, proudly representing Granville.
The team went 3-2 in pool play with wins over JPRD West, Australia, and Bronson.
Border Country Sports plans to catch up with the sisters for a more extensive story when they return home from Alabama. "

Here are the August Updates, Events and Opportunities for Your Family and a Chance to Meet the New Superintendent, Mr. Michael Hall https://www.granvillecsd.org/article/2330652

We have openings for THREE grade 7-12 special educators for the 2025-2026 school year who are ready to build roots in our school community.
We are a small rural school in the beautiful countryside of Washington County, New York, with big heart and big opportunities.
With a new Jr/Sr High Principal leading the way that is here to stay, and a new superintendent ready to meet and greet our school community, the sky's the limit.
The best referrals come from within our community and we would appreciate assistance spreading the word wide and far for those who might consider being part of our school with one of the most competitive course catalogs and Jr/Sr High opportunities in the area.
Encourage potential teachers to also check out our neighborhood website DiscoverGranvilleNY.com to learn more about our community and what it has to offer.
We. Are. The. Golden. Horde.
