Faculty/Staff Recognition

This is a page dedicated to our hard working, talented and caring faculty and staff.  It is a place where "Shout Outs" are recognized.  These faculty staff members have been nominated by their colleagues.  We dedicate this to them!

2019-2020 Recognitions:

Loni Gordon - First Grade Teacher - "Loni is our go-to person. She is a wonderful, hard-working teacher. She is dedicated, organized, and invited us warmly into her room for all of our meetings. She holds onto ALL of our papers and always knows where she put them. She helps our whole team run smoothly. Thank you for being you Loni!"
"Loni is wonderful at communicating with parents on a regular basis. She makes learning fun and Lukas always looks forward to going to school. The students learning is meaningful and she challenges the kids. I think it's wonderful that the students make connections and are developing a love of learning.  Thank you, Mrs. Gordon."

Kathy Burns - Administrative Assistant - "Kathy is on the 'front lines' dealing with countless phone calls, bus changes, computer issues, parent questions, teacher questions, notes, etc. and does it all with calm demeanor and good attitude. She's the best!"

Joan Adams - Teaching Assistant - "Joan is a talented and dedicated member of our team. She goes above and beyond to help all students feel successful in and out of the classroom. Without her support, we would not see the tremendous academic, social, and emotional growth that our students make each year. She is firm yet caring, consistent and humorous. Joan is a natural in the classroom. She reinforces the skills we have taught and even gives us new ideas that she has found successful when working with her small groups. Mrs. Laustrup and I, along with the entire Granville community, are fortunate to have such a valuable TA working with our children! Thank you for all you do."

Sue Fiorillo - Teaching Assistant - "Sue is a wonderfully positive person who you can always count on to have a smile on her face no matter how stressful her day is. She takes care of all of her students, then runs around and takes care of us adults. She is the head of our Social Committee and an integral part of our PBIS team. She takes on anything that is asked of her and puts in time before and after her hours. She will be impossible to replace when she goes."

Lynn Milanese & Sandy Darius - Cafeteria 
- "Lynn and Sandy always have a smile on their faces. They make sure each child feels noticed in addition to being so patient and helpful!"

Connie Clark - Teaching Assistant - "A shout out to Connie for helping to find a way to make our H.U.G. program work. She has volunteered to make connections with two young students in addition to her heavy workload. Thank you, Connie!"

Danielle Motian - AIS Teacher - "She is amazing with her students and always with a smile on her face! She is so helpful with the MTSS process and just everything she does! We are very lucky to have her at MJT!"

Jody Kasso - AIS Teacher - "We are so thankful for the reading support that Jody provides to all of our students. She is able to teach phonics and sight words in a way that reached all student learning styles with her songs, movements, and positive energy! Jody is always willing to help classroom teachers with assessments either by pushing in so we can assess or doing the assessments herself. We appreciate Jody's support, creativity, and endless energy when teaching our students to read and write!"

Sue Monaco - First Grade Teacher - "Sue lights up this school! The enthusiasm and passion she brings to the 1st grade classroom are infectious! I appreciate all she does for our students, and for myself. She is a lifelong learner and I am so humbled to work with her."

Karen Kennedy - AIS Teacher - "Mrs. Kennedy is always positive, kind and so willing to help with whatever is needed. When she is "being the bee", teaching her "kiddos", or just passing in the hall, Mrs. Kennedy always models kindness. Thank you for making our days brighter, Mrs. Kennedy!"

Kristene Laustrup - First Grade Teacher - "Kristene uses every day to make her teaching environment filled with opportunities for learning social skills, self regulation and academics. She challenges her students to be and do their best with loving kindness and consistency. Kristine brings out the best in her students and they want to be learners! To do this, she works very hard to plan and create a joyful, calm, and thought filled day for her students."

Laura Barlow - Teaching Assistant/AIS - "Laura is always willing to help despite a busy schedule of her own. She somehow remains calm during chaos, and she brings fun to any situation. She can always be counted on, whether its for a serious heart-to-heart, or just a good laugh. Thank you, Laura!"

Steve Buxton -Custodial - "Steve Buxton is the 'go-to guy' here are MJT. He cleans, fixes and trouble-shoots with good humor and hard work. We are very lucky to have him here at MJT. I'm thankful she could fixed the paper shredder that I jammed up. :)"

Mary Kay Campbell - Second Grade Teacher - "Mary Kay goes above and beyond for her students to make sure they get what they need! She puts in a lot of extra time before school and at home. The children are lucky to have her and so are we at MJT!"

Ross Foxvog & Chris LeBell - Maintenance - "Their quick response to help is amazing. They were here within 10 minutes ... and fixed the problem with confidence and ease. They both are always wearing a smile and here to help when needed!"

Billi Jo - Custodial - "Billi Jo is always pleasant and friendly. She is extremely hard-working as I truly never see her stop! My room is always clean, as are the common areas. She is always willing to help solve any problem, even ones that we might need maintenance for. Often at night, additionally, she is keeping an eye on everything because there are so many kids here for different sports, too! I appreciate all she does and how kind she is to work with!"

Grade 3 Team - "Thank you to my 3rd Grade Team! Each and everyone of you takes great pride in the love, support, and especially the education you provide your students each and every day. Things may not always go as planned, but you truly do "Find a Way" with all of the obstacles we face as educators on a daily basis. Every morning, your smiles and laughter are contagious which provide a great start to the day. Your love for teaching never goes unnoticed. Your students kind words about each of you reminds me of how I felt about my teachers back in the day! All of you are making a difference to so many students. Keep up the amazing work as educators, but also as a team!"

Christine Palmer - First Grade Teacher - "You are such an amicable teammate helping to influence a positive, and safe climate for our students. Thank you for being our thinker, and bringing joy and rigor to your classroom. It is truly inspiring."

Nick Healy - Elementary Guidance Counselor - "Nick's ability to sympathize with students is remarkable, to say the least!"

Renee Forbes - MJT Psychologist - Renee is an amazing advocate for our students, as well as our knowledgeable resource for our faculty and staff. She takes the time to build positive relationships with our students, and it is easy to see the impact it has on those students and the entire school building. 

Mikayla Wells - Second Grade Teacher - "Mikayla created a google classroom that all of the second grade is using to connect with their students. She has also created a platform where students from our class can virtually meet once a week to see their classmates, listen to a story and work on some reading skills together. Thanks Mikayla!"

Jereme Randles - CTO
- "Jereme has been a MAJOR help during this challenging time. I can only imagine all of the questions, requests and troubleshooting he is dealing with currently. However, he is getting back to everyone quickly, is extremely patient, and really makes your questions/issues seem like his number one priority. Thank you for all you have done and will do for us!"

Chris Donaldson - Teaching Assistant - "Mrs. Donaldson helped out the 2nd-grade teachers immensely on Tuesday making copies, sorting papers, etc. to help us get packets together. This was a HUGE help as it allowed us to focus on gathering materials and collaborating with one another versus spending a large amount of our time copying. Thank you SO much!"

Grade 2 Team - "Just wanted to shout out our 2nd-grade team. It is an absolute joy and honor to work with you."


Deb LaCombe - OT
- "Deb has been an amazing resource and inspiration during our pause in regular teaching. She has been innovative and brave with technology in order to reach our students. I have learned quite a bit from her as she has been kind enough to share her digital discoveries with all of us. Three cheers for Deb LaCombe."

Karen Kennedy - AIS - "Karen made a beautiful face mask for me and many others. She was graciously passing them out Tuesday. She's always one I can count on for a smile and positive conversation. Thanks Karen for being you!"

Kim Bean - Third Grade Teacher - "Kim is always a positive force in the building and beyond. Her positivity is infectious and creates a very comfortable work environment for everyone. Her connection to her students does not go unnoticed, as she is highly respected by her students and families alike. She volunteers her time at many after school events as well. MJT is lucky to have Kim!"

Sargent Ryan Pedone - SRO - "Ryan has been so quick to contact parents and help us keep going with teaching outside of the school building. Without Sgt. Pedone, we might not have been able to keep contact with some of our students."
